We Are Here When You Need Us

If you suspect you are infected with COVID-19, you should call our office at (719) 632-4455

  • According to the CDC, patients with Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) associated with COVID-19 may present with persistent fever and a variety of signs and symptoms, including multi-organ (e.g., cardiac, gastrointestinal, renal, hematologic, dermatologic, neurologic) involvement, and elevated inflammatory markers. (Updated 5/19/20)
  • According to the CDC, “people with COVID-19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported – ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID-19: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell. Children have similar symptoms to adults and generally have mild illness. This list is not all-inclusive. Other less common symptoms have been reported, including gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.” (5/11/20)
  • Pediatric patients with COVID-19 may experience the following signs or symptoms: fever, cough, nasal congestion or rhinorrhea, sore throat, shortness of breath, diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, fatigue, headache, myalgia, poor feeding or poor appetite. (Updated 5/4/20)
  • Matthews-Vu now offers HOME VISITS. Our Population Health team will send clinical staff to visit patients in their homes. This will be done with guidance of the patients’ primary providers. (Updated 4/28/20)
  • Matthews-Vu has remained open to care for patients during this difficult time of COVID-19 crisis. As our community transitions to a “Safer at Home” philosophy, we would like to remind everyone that our practice continues to offer TeleHealth visits, in addition to in-person office visits. We remain focused on the health and safety of our patients and our staff. We will continue to follow all CDC guidelines. We look forward to seeing you again. (Updated 4/27/20)
  • Matthews-Vu now accepts appointments for ANTIBODY TESTING for SARS CoV-2. Because we do not yet know the full protective effect of these antibodies, it is critical that you continue to follow the guidelines for social distancing. ANTIBODY TESTING is not to diagnose active COVID-19 infection. (Updated 4/24/20)
  • According to the CDC, “People with COVID-19 and in home isolation should be advised to restrict interaction with household animals, in addition to following other prevention measures to protect others from COVID-19. Specifically, while a person with COVID-19 is symptomatic, they should maintain separation from household animals as they would with other household members, and avoid direct contact with pets.” (Updated 4/24/20)
